Project Overview

The new Public Safety Facility at Frostburg State University was located at the entry to the college, to be a significant, visible presence of safety and security on campus. The building acts as police operations headquarters, with specialty communications, evidence and property storage, holding cells, a sallyport, and required support spaces.

Our Approach

MK prepared four cost estimates at milestones during schematic, design development, and construction document phases of design. The project was complicated by a limited market, a goal to reuse as much parking as possible, and specialty standards required by the University System and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
