Project Overview

This project improved the Environmental Center, boardwalk, and plaza. The existing beachfront plaza featured a bathhouse, a concessions building, and a playground, with stairs down to the beach. The plaza was updated with new sidewalks, pavers, and seat walls. Additionally, the stairs and ramps to access the beach area were included in the renovation.

Our Approach

MK provided civil engineering for the site design for two acres located within the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area. Sustainability of design and materials was incorporated through permeable pavers, tree and native grass planting, and a nature-themed playground.
